

The Force of Habit
An unwanted Habit is a skill by any other name, and when you don't practice, it fades. In the beginning you consciously repeated an action or thought sequence over and over and now the brain does it for you at an unconscious level. From driving your car to tying your shoe-laces, this once required mental effort, but now it's streamlined.
How will you know change has taken place?
You really will think nothing of it, it's only after the event you realise something was different - an old obsolete 'action' or 'conditioned response' becomes conspicuous by it's absence.

You can choose not to run a particular chain of thoughts in your mind, just as you can choose not to run a computer program. It was always there, you just don't use it anymore. In effect we use the 'Go To' command and think something else instead.
